Many cities, Douma in specific, were a true battlefields. Massive explosions rocked districts and farms day and night. Security reinforcements, including tanks and artillery, stationed in the main squares and streets. Military forces launched random shelling and heavy machine gunfire attacks on residential districts, destroyed homes and businesses and flew military helicopters at low altitude to terrorize residents.
The humanitarian condition is deteriorating as most areas suffer a severe shortage in basic needs and many cities lack all forms of communication such as Internet and cell-phones. However, the suburban area continues to be on strike in solidarity with the ill-fated cities and in protest against the regime’s crimes.
