Thirty four residents were killed across the suburban area this Friday; Mu’addamiyyat Ashaam 6, Kafr Ezait 5, Harasta 4, ‘Erbeen 2, Jdaidet Ashaibani 2, Dareyya 2, ‘Adraa 1, Rikn Edeen (killed in ‘Adraa), Ain Alfeejeh 1, Deir Qanoon 1, Azzabadani 1, Douma 1, Raas Alma’arra, Talfeeta, Bludan, Afra, Reehaan, Dummar (killed in Wadi Barada) Alqadam (Killed in Alkessweh) and Ajjolan (killed in Alyarmook.)
Mu’addamiyyat Ashaam: The fourth division targeted a shelter with fierce shelling killing four children and wounding dozens of residents mostly woman and children. Regime forces continue to besiege the city for several months in a row.
‘Adraa: Assad forces targeted the city with toxic gas killing two residents and wounding others. The Unified Medical Office released a statement about the conditions of the wounded and confirmed the use of organic phosphorus compound (possibly sarin) against civilians. A wounded eyewitness stated that he felt nauseated and had blurry vision after he rushed to rescue wounded residents following an explosion triggered by a rocket.
Wadi Barada: More than 400 shells rained down on the area killing five residents in Kar Ezait, two in Jdaidet Ashaibani and three victims in Deir Qanoon, Deir Muqrain and Ain Alfeejeh. Dozens of residents were also wounded during the attack. Regime forces also targeted the cemetery in Kafr Ezait during the burial of a victim killing for more residents and wounding others. Assad forces intensified their attacks on Wadi Barada in an attempt to regain control over the regions liberated just a few days ago by the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
The FSA managed to keep regime forces at bay, kills and wounds dozens of regime soldiers and seize three military vehicles. Residents lack power and all forms of communications.
Harasta: Assad forces launched aerial bombardment and fierce rocket, mortar and heavy-artillery regime shelling causing colossal damage to buildings in the western side of the city. The FSA managed to destroy a BMB tank on the International Freeway.
Yabrood: Regime forces targeted city and its outskirts with rocket and artillery shelling and launched an aerial raid on Alhumaira killing one resident and wounding several.
Saqba and Bait Sahim: Several residents wounded during mortar shelling on the region.
Azzabadani: Assad forces launched artillery and tank shelling on the city wounding several residents, some critically. The FSA targeted Qala’et Attal roadblock with BMB shells killing and wounding regime soldiers.
Zamalka: Fierce rocket and heavy-artillery shelling targeted the outskirts adjacent to the southern bypass amid clashes between the FSA and regime forces in the same area
Dareyya: Military helicopters hovered over the city while rocket and artillery shelling targeted the western and southern quarters killing two residents. Residents suffer severe shortage in medical supplies and food and lack water, power and all forms of communications.
Almliaha: Regime shelling on Eastern Ghoota sets the sulfur factory on fire and causes terrible smells to diffuse in the area during the evening hours.
Demonstrations mobilized in Douma, Saqba, ’Erbeen and Almlaiha.
