Twenty eight citizens were killed in rural Damascus this Wednesday; Palestine 5 (killed in Khan Asheeh Refugee Camp), Douma 4, Athiyabiyah 2, Mu'addamiyyat Ashaam 2, Jdaidet 'Artooz 2, Ajjarba 1, Annabek 1, 'Assal Alwared 1, Bait Saber 1, Dumair 1, Zamalka 1, Talfeeta 1, Bedda 1, Anneshabiya 1, Azzabadani 1, Huraira 1, Alqunaitira 1 (killed in Athiyabiyah) and Aleppo 1 (killed in Zamalka.)
Zamalka: Assad forces targeted the town with chemical weapons during the early morning hours, killing three residents. More than twenty five residents suffered trouble breathing and convulsions as a result of the attack.
Athiyabiyah: The 58th brigade supported by pro Assad Lebanese and Iraqi fighters stationed in Assayda Zainab targeted the town with fierce tank, mortar and rocket shelling, wounding and killing dozens of residents. Fifteen shells per minute were reported during the attack and residents fear new massacres in the area.. Furthermore, regime forces dispatched large military reinforcements to the area, while the Free Syrian Army (FSA) clashed with regime forces in Athiyabiyah and Albahdaliyah (mainly in Massaken Athiyabiyah near Khomeini Hospital) to hamper the advance of regime forces. One lieutenant colonel, three Iraqis and two Lebanese fighters were killed during the clashes.
Hajeeret Albalad: Assad forces targeted civilian homes with rocket launchers killing and wounding dozens of residents. The shelling attacks also targeted Alboida.
Alqalamoon: MiG fighter jets launched three aerial raids on the region while the 67th Regiment targeted residential areas with rocket, mortar and artillery shelling. At least 400 shells rained down on the area during the attacks. Fierce clashes between the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and regime forces occurred near Albashaar checkpoint in Halboon.
Bait Teema and Bait Saber: Assad forces launched fierce assault raids on residential areas, detained dozens of residents, (mostly refugees from other areas) and set homes and farmlands on fire.
Bait Jin: Three residents were killed during fierce tank shelling on homes.
Deir Salman: Assad forces stationed in the vicinity of Damascus International Airport targeted the town with surface-to-surface missiles causing colossal damage to buildings.
Huraira: Warplanes flew over the town, and fierce rocket shelling targeted residential areas.
‘Erbeen: Clashes between the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and regime forces occurred on the outskirts amid regime rocket shelling on the city.
Harasta: The International Highway near the Air Defense Intelligence Branch was sealed off due to the ongoing clashes between the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and regime forces in the area.
Bait Sahim: Regime mortar shelling targeted the town during the early morning hours, causing damage to buildings.
Azzabadani: Regime forces targeted the city with tank shelling, burned surrounding farmlands and continued to besiege the city for over a year.
Hajeeret Albalad: Pro Assad Iraqi fighters targeted a civilian bus with a self-guided Malotka missile, killing the driver, wounding at least eight passengers and targeting rescuers with gunfire. Residents were unable to identify the driver due to the severity of his burns.
